SUPERGel!
Again!!
Hey all,
As promised I said I would give it another go, I read a few reviews, but they were just swatches, yes mine looked super straight after....but the drying time..jeez! I followed instructions again, forgetting how hard it was to get off the first time & not putting a base coat on! Regretted that yesterday!
Anyway, when I first put it on it, looked great! I used Jamberry Nail Wraps for my three other nails, but they were massive so I had to cut them to size, to which I did a terrible job as you will see, my bad, I really dont think wraps are for me, more than willing to try them again, I ran out just as I was getting the hang of it!
First done.
Day 1
See all nice shine, shame about my boo boo with the wraps!
But as I said waiting for each layer to dry with it being lamp free, took forever & this is where the dents come in! I havnt time to wait 3 hours for a complete cure, after dishes, quick whip around, bath then bed, I was shocked how well it still looked, especially after last time!

Day 2 A.M
Still had good shine, needed tidying up, but again I am not professional, this is the point of my tests, these are sold to the home market, so imo should be-able to be used by the likes of me!
So I hit it, and I hit it hard, did my usual housework & washing, then it was the weekly bang clean....due to our 'hard' water!!
Got through that one fine,,,,go Rimmel Gel! Not many pass the BANG test!!
How many times to we do this a day? Let alone wash our hands, spesh if you are in and out of gardens and cleaning toilets etc...I use a floor scrubbing brush in the kitchen to get the mud etc out my nails! Only thing that works, but still Rimmel Super Ger has got through all this with ease, so I push the pase up!
In the garden doing what needs to be done, weeding and watering plus the most fun, bug squishing! And my excitement when I saw this...my first hot Chili!!! I seriously need to get out more!
Need a shower after that...daily shower and sometimes nightly bath's but they still are holding fast, finish seem's to be getting more dents, but I think by now I will call it an EXTREME test, I have pushed these so far all I have left are stumpy nails or split ones :(
So I went on a Lego fixing spree, Star Wars Lego, my son has so much, its a bugger to dust and get in all the nooks and crannies and even more of a bugger to keep things made and bits not lost! I've hoovered up more Lego than I have trod on and that's saying something, if there is a bit of Lego on the floor, no matter where, guaranteed I will step on it!!
Anyone with a child with Lego will know the damage that can do to our nails, let alone to polish...but still, no chips! I take my hat off, very unexpectedly!

So I had a crafty moment after seeing something online!
Bit of inspiration, off I went!
Bit of knitting!!
Some beading and jewelry making, gotta love a home made gift!
Once I had it all out, I had no choice but to sort ALL my beads out, what a mess, they were everywhere, I couldn't have it like that any longer! So of I went tidying, picking tiny sharp beads up with my nails scraping on the side!
But still after all the above plus doing five pots of beads AND my daily's, I need not lay them out, not only will I be here all day, but anyone that works, looks after the home, kids etc, we all know what has to be done!
Here they are Day 2 P.M after a wee clean up...eventually I found time, not sure where from....
Few dents added, but still holding strong, and I love the colour!
Day 3 A.M
Fathers day
Morning off, with the family!
Went for a meal, which of course came with a drink, I must have been happy with my nails as I wore them proud. dressed to match too!
Nice little doggy bag for Jess!!
Lovely Fathers day meal, down the local, few drinks, but I broke my nail OMG this one hurt! It bleed everywhere, I ripped it off getting my purse out my bag! WTH after all I did....ah well as I've said before, through gritted teeth...its only a nail!! Life goes on!
Once home, the whites for school & work needed to be done, along with the daily's, unfortunately the wraps, that I not only cut wrong, I also applied wrong didn't survive this, two came off, one stayed!
Made my nails wraps Vanish...does what it says on the tin!!
My last wrap, the one that went on the best, I cut too small as you can see its better than being too big!!
Day 3 p.m
Here's how they look, my ring finger nail is split too! So I was really on thin ice, with the wraps, spesh putting it on a broken nails!
Day 4 A.M
New wraps, again cut to wrong size as they were toe nail ones, yet again the thumb is slightly small but looks the best! But that's my cutting skills, not the wraps!!
I did my daily's first thing, work, home, whip around then I hit the Mega Bloks collection my son also has!
Mega Bloks and Lego are NOT the same, I have been asked to point this out, ten years ago, I'd have laughed at that, bricks are bricks right? Nup, not when it comes to enthusiasts, the Lego & Mega Bloks community is MASSIVE!
My household being one of them!
This test went on a long time so I'm just skirting the edges, the polish is out out my own personal collection, I in no way endorse or work for Rimmel London!
I have made contact to ask for tips on applying and removal, yet I still haven't heard back, that was on the first test of Rimmel SuperGel!
This was just a Very cheap gel system that I thought may be worth the try!
I will let you decide that at the end!
Day 4 p.m
I just cant get the hang of the wraps, but I left them on anyway!
Day 5 a.m
The dents were getting worse...and the wraps were driving me mad, sticking to my hair clothes and anything else I run my fingers across, like a split nail! But again this is down to me and me alone!! I cut them down from half the size they were! Not too good at cutting it would seem!
Show must go on!
I think its time I mowed the lawn, I don't usually let it grow so high, but I needed seeds, the winter kills my grass every year, method to my madness, honest..
Look at the state of these!!
Gotta love a morning garden b4 work!
Now I don't mention work a lot or take pics at work, that's their homes, their privacy, I cannot do it without their permission, I know Id get a yes off all of them, but tbf they wouldn't know what they were agreeing to, so hows that fair!?
So off to work, back for the school run with the dog, followed by park! Imagine how .long this would be if I wrote ALL I did and pictured all I did in a day!
We used to have loads of fish, little babies and bigger ones. I had two tanks on the go...hard water remember, they are so bloody hard to keep clean and limescale free! This is tank no 1 the smaller of the two, only having 2 fish left, from over 40 to begin with 4 years ago, it seemed a waste and better if they were in together plus more room once the big tanks out the way! Aquariums look superb, but you have to realize there is so much work in maintaining or your fish will just die, painfully, being a animal lover..as if I could watch that happen, bad enough when that time does come, might only be a fish but over the years they become part of your day to day, part of the family!
Unfortunately all the scrubbing, picking, scratching didn't fair well on my nails, my bad again this wasn't meant to be an extreme test, I should have wore gloves, I just want to show you close up at the finish of the gel as its so shiny you cant see unless close!

You have to remember three coats had to dry!

up and down doing this and that, it would be great if I had five hours to let it all dry properly! Who has that kinda time?
The wraps are MY bad, I can see they last if put on correctly, if I get anymore , at the right size(first testers were too small second were so big they were too big for my big toe,from pinky 2 big toe)
I had to cut them, getting two nails outa one wrap!
Do you see what I mean? The wraps, like I keep saying are my bad, the thumb, again, looks grand and stays put but the other two its obvious where I went wrong
Day 5 p.m
Considering all they have been through, they are still except-able, not the two wraps, the polish, nothing a little touch up wont solve;) I think I owe Rimmel that, seeing as I have put it through so much!!!!
Day 6
So I filled the nicks and went over the areas that had chipped or worn! With my NEW Tweexy...naturally! I have to admit, it makes doing your nails on the go so much easier!! I am so glad I got one! You have to get one, seriously!!

I got so confident with my Tweexy, I thought I would try and match my thumb with my own polishes.....I was pushing the boat out!!
After doing a colour or layer at a time and only one nail at a time so I could still get on with my daily's....I only went and did it.....
and proud of me I was!
I was very quiet online and in life that day, I wasn't working (day off) but I had to Vote the next day, it was here......now I say that as if it were a bad thing, no its not a bad thing to have the right to vote!I thank my peers for getting us here and all they suffered to get there! We are a very lucky country, I think too many don't even know whats what let alone get involved. Help mold the future for your kids, our kids....the next generation! I read what I could, listened to both sides! I just never knew/know what to believe, whats truth, whats scare mongering, whats fact! This for me was a massive thing and took a lot of my time up, reading information from both sides! I couldn't walk into this blind, this was massive and it was happening tomorrow!!
Looked even better under the lamp! I was so proud of my art! I am no good at nail art, I shake I'm heavy handed, my left always turns out even messier, no matter how easy they make it look, it still looks like a 5 year old has had the felt tips out on my nails, when I have tried art in the past, so yes, I am proud!
Lots of Strawberries, so very proud of my home-grown this year, all is doing really well!
I don't think it mattered how people voted, It was a shock to all that we voted out!
Anyhooo back to my nails....
Day 8 am
Before I even had a chance to do anything,I let the dog out for her morning widdle, she was out there in the time I got cups from the cupboard, put a tea bag in a cup and got a spoon ready, then she was barking to get in! So I let her in! Continue making tea/coffee and breakfast! Then I notice a bit of mud on the floor, so I checked where she normally digs...nothing!
Took breakfast up, came back down for my coffee and found more mud on the stairs! So I take another look, to my horror, the dog had widdled on my baby toms,if that isn't bad enough she then thought she would dig to cover it, killing one of my babies and moving/de-rooting many more, leaving me to sort out after a night of rainfall in my PJs BEFORE A COFFEE.......... BEFORE......A.......COFFEE!!
There they are AFTER my coffee and clean up, I was so angry! But those eyes, I forgive her every time!
Who couldn't?
One problem, my split nail, split the polish...on my art too! :( I left it how it was...look how low it is? My three other stumps are bad enough...I don't want another!!
Still looking grand, I think, a bit thin on the tips but still has a nice shine even with all the dents etc, I swear it got better in time...as mad as that sounds!
Still have a shine, few chips but have gym and swimming tomorrow so I wont be taking it off till after, see how it does!
Day 10 a.m
Ready to go after a rushed daily's to the gym and swimming! This is going to be more testing on me then my nails! Its been a very long time since I have been, way too long! The Gym that is, we go swimming often.
Had to prove that I was there and did do it all! Couldn't take my phone into the pool...for obvious reasons! My nails look fine straight after....I felt great too..even today the only bit of me that hurts is my bum, from the bike! Teach me for doing two sets! Should never push myself like that really, not first time back!
We wait for what seems like forever for the boys to get bored and get out then headed home, put tea on and went up to get ready for a shower, then I noticed.....
and this...I think the chlorine didn't help, I haven't a clue how they happened as they were fine after and I didn't do much in-between!
Had a nice shower, long cool refreshing shower!! Well deserved too! I was a right sweaty Betty, the changing rooms are unisex, so I wouldn't risk a shower there!! I have trust issues ;)
My poor nail broke after the shower..so end of test! Ten whole days, and I was pleased with the way they looked throughout! If you have time to wait a good few hours for two coats and a top coat to dry and you are good at painting nails, unlike me, it has a thick brush, well it has a double ended brush on the polish, I struggled with this also!
But it lasted, it still looked great on the very last day! So Rimmel Super Gel you have been re tested and passed for the real woman in us all! As long as you have time for the prep...its deffo worth it! If I got 10 days doing all I have. imagine how many days I would have got looking after them, even having a nail dryer! Its no lamp but I'm sure a normal nail dryer would work!
One last thing! Its not Peal off what so ever, acetone was the only thing that would remove, once this stuff is on, it isn't going anywhere! I could have still tidied them up on the chips and broken nail and took this mani further, but I needed a change and my nails need some TLC! Well deserved too!

I was very quiet online and in life that day, I wasn't working (day off) but I had to Vote the next day, it was here......now I say that as if it were a bad thing, no its not a bad thing to have the right to vote!I thank my peers for getting us here and all they suffered to get there! So I showed them off at the school performance of the Lion King, which was bloody brilliant I have to say!!
One of my three times daily dog walks, same as fish and aquariums, dogs, need A LOT of everything, my princess is worse than a newborn, she is such a handful, but she is mine and my responsibility, same as the kids! So if you are thinking of getting a dog please look into the breed and what they need to live a happy healthy life!
Of course I had my daily duties and shower, same as everyday!
Day 6 p.m
Still looking good, so I thought, I was amazed that it had held up so well...OK the finish was never that good, but that's down to drying time and me not having it!
Day 7 a.m
My goodness, this is a long one huh?
The Big Day (Vote)
So I got stuck into the gardening in the morning sun!
I loose count how many times a day, let alone a week I do the dishes, what about you? Sometimes, its once, most of the time two of three, dependent on day and time!
Did the school run with the dog, naturally, then came and did the below!
She looked just as happy to be there as everyone else, such a big decision with too many unknowns!
I didn't sleep much watching it all.....I don't watch T.V only crap as I fall off to sleep, something, anything I don't have to concentrate on, usually!!
I watched open jawed as the results slowly came in!
Day 7pm
Anyhooo back to my nails....
Day 8 am
Took breakfast up, came back down for my coffee and found more mud on the stairs! The BANG test AGAIN, that time of week AGAIN.....soon flies round, then dog walk, then work, then school run and second dog walk, then dailies that need doing and gardening (watering and weeding daily) and on and on, no point in picturing it all every-time, every blog would be huge! This is big enough! We all get it, your busy!

Fish tank Number 2
They get so bad so fast, I am so happy I now only have one to look after and will be sticking to small fish, from here and now on!
Here they are together, there is only one goldfish, from the fair last year! then there's a small silver blue fish that was donated to us! Its just the reflection that makes it look like three, clever huh? Flook!! Ill tell you the story of our weird but wonderful fish one day! Too long for this Novel! So there they are both
met and got to know each other in their new home!
Another day of madness and here they are at the end of
