Easy but very effective Halloween Nails! 2016 Jack Pumpkin Style.

Who doesn't like Halloween?

Who doesn't like Halloween inspired Nails/Manicures?

I love ANY reason for a new look or to try something new, so it would be rude not to do a Halloween Manicure when scooping & carving Pumpkins ruined my last!
Worth it :)
So as we do, I scoured the internet for inspiration, there are sooooo many, Tutorials make it look easy, until you try yourself! What I didn't notice, only till recently was the ones I believed to be expertly hand-painted and in awe at the steady hand needed for this, is mostly printing......why haven't I tried this before? I now have a few bits on the way so fingers crossed by Christmas I will have on fleek....printed nails, is that a good thing? I dunno, hard it on my sons loud speaker the other day, we all like to be in with the kids ;)
I found this Spider tutorial......looks easy right?
Now try it, I even tried it on a swatch nail so had two hands,,,,,,,
It didn't look like this, and this said simple......simple for whom?? Not mwa, so I realized, of came my drunk ahum apparent spider and took a look for other ideas!
Here s what I eventually did!
The Jack Pumpkin IS proudly hand painted, with a nail pen!! Here's what I used..
For my left thumb & right pinky
Barry M Magnetic in Dark Silver 226 (They were supposed to be a cross but came out more a star)

For the orange base I used Orange Impulse, from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri collection ( sourced in £land )
For the Crackle effect I used another Barry M Nail Effects
Not thinking in advance, just hoping to make my mani last I of course sealed it in with a favorite of mine
Sensationail Polish to Gel!

I say without thinking, how long does one wear a Halloween manicure for?? Yes this was realized the day after Halloween, so I'm a bit mift I used my precious stash, Saying that it stayed on well as I knew it would.
Fireworks night was closing in so this had to go as again it would be rude not to have nails on fleek with seasons and holidays ; )
I had lots of compliments during the few days I wore this look! It was fast simple and easy, my three favorite words when kit comes to nails!
My little nail got ripped off dog walking, when did walking your dog become dangerous or a nail breaker?
look at the poor little thing, down to the bone as my old Nana would say......nails don't have bones!! Have you ever tried arguing a point with the older generation....don't, unless you have a few years to loose over one point!
As much as I loved this effective an d head turning look, as always the end of one great manicure leads to another......

Bring on Bonfire night
My nails are ready for you!

Sensationail Fuse System against real life!

 SENSATIONAIL FUSE

V's
REAL LIFE

I have been looking forward to this review/test for a long long time now, I've had my eye on Fuse since being introduced to Sensationail last year.
The colours are all so vivid and well, colorful! !  14 plus days can be a long time for most to hold the same manicure, some grow bored of the same colour, others like to mix it up a bit more, if this sounds like you,the sensationail Fuse is the system for you.
Here's what I received, I was automatically drawn to the vividness of the electric orange colour, it popped! They all went together well so I decided to use them all.
In the starter kit there was...

Wee instructions book
FUSE Gel - Polar Bare
A lovely glitter nude pink that looks great on its own or on-top of another colour!
FUSE LED Lamp
with a USB cord & plug, to be used with laptops etc on the go or at home with the mains. It does one nail at once in thirty seconds, which is perfectly timed with the cute button on top, its even adjustable, so you can have a super pedicure too.....must try this ;)
FUSE Cleanser
To get rid of that tacky layer once cured
TIP Don't forget to double click your cleanser bottle shut, or it will evaporate, I learnt the hard way!
12 Lint Free Wipes
Double sided nail buffer
&
a manicure stick!
Everything you need for a fast super looking DIY manicure!
There are many different colours to choose from that can go with your starter kit, take a look here
With that as you can see I also had two other great colours, a purple gloss - e-motion,
Its a Funky Magenta Purple
&
My favorite, elec-tric or treat,
A super bright blood orange that explodes its colour!
To be honest I saw it as more as a pink, it was late on a Thursday night & under unnatural light, I saw it as a neon pink! I soon realized the next morning....
After......yes.....after I had done my #wearitpink #standuptocancer manicure for work...My diamonds helped me fluke it, everyone that knows me, knows this is something I'd obliviously do!
I paid my dues and loved my nails anyway, pink or not! I used the Polar-bare over the top of the purple e-motion! All the others are one coat as advised. You don't need a thick coat at all, its self leveling and a dream to use, I don't normally like big brushes (if you want a pic please ask) but these glided on, like the professional I'm so not! Even the glitter was unexpectedly smooth & so easy to apply, I..me...even managed the three stroke  application....on one nail, to which I have never been able to master as yet, I was one proud bunny, see practice makes perfect, my mum was right....this time ;)
I of course used my trusty Handirest & Tweexy, without them, you'd truly see how bad I am at nail painting! How bad I was :) I'm slowly getting better.

The days flew by, I did nothing out of the ordinary, my usual mum stuff, work stuff, housework stuff & all we manage to squeeze in, in-between!
No chips, no dents, I lost a few diamonds over the days but easily reapplied once home!

As always, sensationail did as it said on the pot! Up to seven days wear, one coat super shine Gel!
On the seventh day all was fine, a few tips had been lost,  but  nothing  noticeable!
The colours were still bright I still had great shine and was far from bored with my nails, I was shocked 7 days had come by so fast!
But on the seventh day, it was also the night before Halloween, we went Pumpkin picking.....I don't think ANY manicure could have survived that! My nails took more of the blast then the manicure, here..see for yourself....
I must have handled every Pumpkin in sight, yet still went with the first we saw!
Then came the scooping & carving.........Need I say more....
Silver lining, as always....it was Halloween, it would be rude not to have a manicure to match ;)
All in all, I am as impressed as I thought I would be!
The colours are bold, vivid and so bright with super shine! Its easy to mix it up if you get bored. Its well easy to remove, I soaked then peeled....something strangely satisfying about getting a gel off in one!
The polishes are of good size, its so fast, even at one nail at a time, which is also good if your a mum like me as we all know, it doesn't matter how much we believe we are organised, something or someone will interrupt at some point ;) Got to love them!
The FUSE gels work with the Senationail lamp too if you didn't want to pay out for another, this one is so small and portable though, I'd defiantly recommend.
I will be getting more colours to add to my little collection!
Sensationail should do a nice storage center for its systems, i know its something Id go for, a place for everything and everything has its place!
There are some great deals on Fuse at the moment, here take a look!

Take a look here
They now even sell their Fuse in Asda, so you can pick it up on a weekly shop!
Happy shopping, buy with confidence, in the knowledge that Sensationails customer service in none to one!

My Time looking Devine with Devine Nails!!

Nails for Real Girls

Wears

I was lucky enough to wear these little diamonds then had them as a perminant fixture for ten days before I lost one.....deep sorrow and highly searched for yet very quickly recovered when I remembered I had another 12 left to choose from!
To be fair I was very dubious over the re-usable claim. In my head I assumed that the paint would chip like when I paint them, theres the massive difference here, I didnt paint them and Im not a proffesional, Laura at Devine Nails, is however & her nails prove that from first glance!
They are clear, sharp, thin but robust and for the love of god I couldnt find a stroke mark, these babies look like they are printed!

Here they are as they arrive, totally as advertised, 22 Salon quality nails of your choice shape, length with free glue and UK shipping!
Laura also sends a how to leaflet with all the info you will need to ensure your nails last as advertised and come off with no issue's hense making them re-usable!
The fact there were so many was a massive bonus, I could Jazz up for the weekends and tone down with just a accent nail in the week, I went full on Jazz,of course ;) I wanted to wear as many of the ones with such super Art on,  as I could,  so I did!

Here they are first applied,  I did as advertised they went on a treat, the glue was so strong and the nails so thin, it was like they were my own, I usually steer clear of false nails because I hate the fake feeling plus I have the fear of pings, its a real thing ya no! Yet these felt & looked super!  We all know that at night I have been known to wiggle a little, yet in the morning, every morning, there they were, ready to put a smile on my face as I wiggled my fingers with joy!
I was at work a little less than usual due to good old Summer holidays, still did my normals though, gardening, cooking, washing....need I go on? We all know what we do, we all know we do too much yet we suck it up,  get on with it, with a smile :)
I far from went easy on these, as I've said it's like they weren't there so I did just forget about them!

As you can see after a few days they still looked the same apart from loosing one diamond :( considering how many times my hands are in & out of my pockets, my painted on skinny jeans pockets, I'm shocked that's all that came off!
I continued my day by days, forgetting they were there still, they hadn't loosened & still felt like my own!

Even without a flash, 6 days in, these little lovelies were still holding strong & doing me proud. I wish I had some Devine Nails cards whilst I was wearing,  I had so many compliments, I lost count "beautiful nails" "wow love your nails" "who did your nails" these comments were from strangers, in super markets, walking the dog etc! I felt obliged to tell them who made them, how they could get some & from where!  I am not good at taking compliments, yet these I took well, I was very proud to wear these babies & will definitely be stocking up for future easy fast but beautiful manis!
Lots of manis are fast & last but how many take less ten minutes, if that & still look like you have spent hours on them! Those who I did manage to get all my info out on were shocked when I said they were hand painted glue ons AND re-usable, I love that word when nails come after ;)
So day ten came, I had a few pings bed making, mostly my thumbs, tucking & lifting,  no issue though, just had to clean my nail up then plop back on!
On one of my many dog walks, I didn't notice until onway home but I lost one of my favourite ones off my four finger. I wasn't happy until I remember the pile I had to replace them with! !

Replaced & looking great. .still ten days on, there is a wee bit of wear, to be expected, yet nothing noticeable as you can see!
As I had worn for the recommended ten days, I wanted to see if they really were "re-usable" I thought they may split when took off or chip, I followed instructions, soaked in warm water, then off they popped one by one, it didn't feel like someone was ripping my own off  with rusty pliers, like every other set I've ever worn! Some were on stronger than others, all they needed was a longer soak!  So all in all they do "what they say on the packet" to a tee & some !!
Here are my re-usable beauties!  Ready for the next wear!
I cannot stress how well painted these are,  my brain cannot comprehend how they don't chip & still look so great after being on my clumsy, goofy hands for ten full days and most of all nights ;)
No photos can do them justice, I tried from every angel, every light, yet the photo just wouldn't pick out what my eyes were seeing! I love them.  I more than enjoyed wearing them, I had more compliments whilst wearing, then I have in my entire life. I think I have been converted!
So the wonderful talented Laura from the amazing Devine Nails,  I salute your work,  a pretty fingered salute! Devine by name Devine by nature!
Cheers to you & your amazing little finger diamonds!

Twenty day lasting Manicure, find out which two off the shelf products I used!

HERE'S WHAT LASTED 20 DAYS BOTH TIPS AND POLISH!

What could it be?  Even I was shocked at how well they both lasted!  Here's my tips when first done!

Now considering I have never applied tips and that these took seconds a nail, I am really impressed with the way they looked, unfortunately due to me testing the two colours I had to choose from I did this......

Can you see my nice pink thumb? Well a few had a slight pink tinge so was left no choice but to go buy a base/top coat (I was being stingy when I bought the colours) and stick to the red! Red Hot to be precise! Also as much as I love my Tweexy, you cannot do your nails, whilst the car is moving,  I had fun trying! Fine in traffic! Surprisingly, speed bumps and painting nails just don't mix, whoda funked it?!?
So Red Hot nails it was for me and no stains I hope with the base coat I should have bought and used to begin with!

Here's my Hot Red nails with a few decals to break and mix it up a bit! To be honest I didn't hold hopes for either as they were both cheap in comparison to others I have tested and seen. So the test began! I continued my day to days, going to work, housework, gardening, playing with the kids, Lego building, dog walking etc etc etc....we all know what we get up to! Too much then a little more!

Here you can see how level they were, my nails were right to the skin, under the tips, I hate that, they felt secure and looked real, my only issue was I used white tips, I did this as I didn't want to waste the natural ones if I got it all wrong on my first attempt, none went wrong, its too easy to get wrong! So the white stuck out like a sore thumb, the only polish issue I had was the tips, take a look!

Not a great look but it was my choice, so I topped my tips up every night as and when needed, took minutes! And with my new gadget that had arrived, it was even easier! My Handirest I am quite heavy handed, I shake also so this is a dream to me, no more shakes AND best of all, I remember my nails are wet and leave them on the Handirest until dry, I am terrible for knocking my nails together and having to start again! And with my Tweexy too, I didn't need a tray to watch TV at the same time, with bottles skidding all over....know what I mean? Yeah weve all been there, these two are well worth the investment in my opinion, especially for a ametuer like me with shakes and no steady hand! My right hand is always the hardest but it was a breeze using these!
The days past, I continued working and doing all I do, still no chips, only the odd tip every now and then, they were only so noticeable due to the in your face white I painted over!
Very Berry anyone? Of course I had to get in some home grown fruit, my garden is my baby, its hard work but well worth it!!

Had a few accidents, all of them happened in my sleep, I've said before I really don't know what it is i do in my sleep, these tips were solid, so I haven't a clue how I did them, I just fixed and continued seeing as it only took seconds!

After about 7 days and still both tips and polish were in tact, I got a bit bored with the shiny rubies on my fingers, so I treated myself!
Who doesn't love a Matte top coat? I got Barry M due to it being the only one I could find as I was at the same supermarket as I got the tips and colour from. Not the best place to go cosmetic shopping, but sometimes the cheapest ;)

I loved it, totally mixed it up a bit!
Was like a whole new mani!
The days flew by, before I knew it was another friday, its not like I've had a quiet few weeks, its been mental to be fair, but still these bad boys stayed put, except for a few erratic night rips, I say rips as when they did break it wasn't the tips just falling off, it would rip the tip, leave some behind, scares me what I am doing to do that to myself without knowing :/

More berries from my Garden?! Why not ;)

You can see the tips here and the regrowth, where the nails were growing, the gel was moving and had lifts that were catching and ripping out my hair..ouch! Plus the shine was coming through as you can see, the Matte effect had gone flat! So I asked the followers what they think I should do, refill and paint or take off and have a new mani!

The Ruby 'Hot Reds' were back, I didn't refill as planned I filed the lifts down to the nail bed and repainted!! A new mani again, but it didn't last long at all this time, I did my two toilets and the bathroom a few days later this was after a long day at work, naturally, and they were like this!

So that was the end of the Lasting Gel nail colour! You want to know what it was I take ;)
Who just scrolled, I know I would ;)
Here is is

There you have it, the polish that lasted 20 days all in, even at the end it wouldn't have took long to tidy up! This is a test so that was it, I feel 20 days smashed it really!! What to you think? It has a wide brush, I did at the beginning  struggle and made a bit of a mess, but I did get used to it in time!
At £2.99 a pop, this is a must have, save all the expensive for good times and this for during the week, grafting time! You don't have to have the base/top coat, I believe it played a massive part in it lasting so long! Even after all my touch ups and redo, I still have loads left, its hardly put a dent in it! So Collection Lasting Gel has passed and the longest test yet!
Now down to the tips! I took the polish off and had to laugh, I couldn't rub hard as I didn't want the gel or tips to come off!

Slightly pink I call this colour ;) Yet the tips are still on and looking fine!
Its a shame but where my nails started growing under these too caught my hair, clothed and anything I touched so at the end of that day

Ouchie, Nah only one hurt the others I only noticed when I put the key in the door after work, so that was it the Tips, also done, theses lasted 22 days in total, yes you heard me 22!! I lost count, I had to go through my photos and check the dates it lasted so long! These I give 10/10

You get, 40 tips, the Gel overlay, gel activator two files and a pipet for the Gel activator! You first of all stick the tip in desired place, cut to shape if necessary, then apply the gel overlay, it is just like nail polish, put a little more on the smile, then put a couple of drops of the activator and bobs your uncle you are done!!! All that for just £7.99 in Asda! You are talking £30 plus in a salon and I bet they don't last 20 days!
As you know I used the white, here's what I have left

I could still get three more manis out of that, whether the Gel overlay will stretch I don't know, it is advertised as two manicures, but I cut down and reshaped a few so to only use one spur! They also have Calcium in them to help your nails strengthen! There are so many good qualities in these, I WILL be getting more, for when a nail breaks, I seriously hate having to cut my nails the same length, just because one broke, these will be perfect, cheap, fast and last!!

So there you have it, at long last you know what and how!
You can get your polish and the Calcium Tips at any good Supermarket, Superdrug & Boots !! Go check out all their colours!
